This local food project began in 2002 as Local 2 Oswestry and over time it has evolved into a successful box scheme which now employs 1 full time and 3 part time staff.
Our aims are
- to ensure local food producers receive a fair price for their product
- to provide consumers with easy access to high quality local food
- to reduce food miles and provide total traceability
- to raise awareness of local food issues
- to offer consumers an alternative to the super market giants
- to maintain the local landscape by supporting traditional, environmentally sound farming practices
Our Local Food Producers
Our producers come from within a 50 mile radius of Oswestry and most focus their energies on farmers markets, food festivals or their own farm shops. Local Feast offers these producers another route to a new market whilst ensuring they receive a fair price for their produce. The website also provides smaller producers with an online presence without cost to themselves.
Local Feast Customers
Our customers also come from within a 50 mile radius of Oswestry benefit from receiving high quality fresh local food which is produced to high standards of environmental and animal welfare. Whilst our main presence is online we pride ourselves on our friendly flexible service and the fact that there is a human point of contact on hand during the week to offer advice and assistance
